Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth. It was a very successful show and I was able to meet some interesting people including fellow artists, gallery shop owners and art enthusiasts. It was also great to be able to demonstrate woodcut printmaking - especially to the children who were able to explore the different tools.
Thank goodness the weather was just perfect: sunny and warm.
Next stop... The Ellwood House Museum Show on the Fourth of July in DeKalb, Illinois.

It says I live in a farmhouse. That's not altogether true. It is an old house, but not a farmhouse. :-)

Lady's Slipper from The Ridges
Back in July of 2008 I went on vacation in Door County WI during the early spring. I had created a print but I was new at printmaking and it just didn't seem right. I remade the piece ad am very happy with this version. The composition is better and flow, texture and energy of the print is more my style. The finished size is 3.5" wide x 5.5" high and was printed with water-based Graphic Chemical in brown and hand painted with artist grade watercolor on Japanese kitakata washi. It will be in my shop later tonight.
